Some stock market books are written by people who are unwilling to document their own trading record. Others contain information that is too general to provide actionable advice.
One notable exception is the latest edition of The Naked Trader written by Robbie Burns. His superb decade-long trading record is well-documented and can be monitored on-line.
This very readable book is chock-full of advice about techniques that work for Burns and how he picks shares. One of my favourite chapters covers the top 20 mistakes traders make. Sad to say, I recently made some of those mistakes. It makes the point that it is never too late to learn something new about trading shares.
