Warren Buffett, ESG and the end of cash: This year's best Xmas reads
Lawrence Gosling's top financial books
Stuck on what to buy the financial services professional in your life for Christmas? How about an investment book? Lawrence Gosling picks out his favourites from the titles that have hit our desks this year.
A wonderful book that attempts to pull these together is Conscious Investing, edited by Christin ter Braak-Forstinger and published by Harriman House.
Christin is an ‘impact' investor and the book is a series of chapters from different authors, all with impeccable knowledge and track records in the space, which attempts to look at the subject in its broadest sense. I found it quite inspirational.
The sections are wonderfully written by thoughtful, challenging specialists that make you realise ESG, or sustainable investing or whatever you want to call it, is a rich sector with huge potential for change, but also for a fair and real investment return.
It is written both for those very familiar with the sector, as well as those with no knowledge of it at all. It also should not lose relevance for a long time. A 'must read' for anyone who cares passionately about the power of investing.
