"I've just finished reading a very enjoyable book about the fall of Northern Rock. It's written by an insider - it's a very easy to read account of how and why it all happened. I found it quite fascinating to read the inside story of how it worked - he explains easily how the business model worked and how it suddenly all went horribly wrong.
It's like a novel as the plot unravels and even though you know the ending it's amazing to read it from the point of view of someone who worked there in a quite high up capacity. They really had no idea what was about to hit them. In fact what was going on behind the scenes was fascinating. And I found myself surprisingly gripped. So if you want a great read about what it was like to be an insider, go buy!"
