Letters to the Telegraph: How Brown lost our trust
"Sir - For the last week I have been conducting a small experiment in my bookstore, displaying two books in the most prominent part of the window. The Prudence of Gordon Brown has been on offer at 10 pence, reduced from £9.99 as it's clearly past its sell-by date. The Bumper Book of Government Waste 2008, on the other hand, has been selling extremely well at the full price of £9.99. When hard-working families have to part with cash, they usually make "prudent" buying decisions. Kim Thonger, South Olney, Buckinghamshire."
