Wrote Watsa in his letter, released March 6, 2020 (p. 28) :
This year Lawrence Cunningham, an author and a law professor at George Washington University, will be on hand with his bestselling book, Dear Shareholder: The Best Executive Letters, containing letters from Warren Buffett, yours truly and other CEOs. He will have some copies that he will autograph for a donation to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation in memory of my assistant, Jo Ann Butler.
Buffett wrote, in his letter of February 22, 2020 (p. 11):
Berkshire’s directors – your guardians – are constantly focused on both the welfare of owners and the nurturing of a culture that is rare among giant corporations. (The value of this culture is explored in Margin of Trust: The Berkshire Business Model, a new book by Larry Cunningham and Stephanie Cuba that will be available at our annual meeting.)
Cunningham commented:
Like millions of others, I am a big fan of the annual letters of Warren Buffett and Prem Watsa, and enjoy attending the annual meetings of Berkshire and Fairfax. To have my work showcased by these executives and at these meetings is quite an honor.
