Synopsis
A complete guide to fixing your finances, protecting your time, and building your personal style.
Social media sensation and pioneer of the viral Instagram and TikTolk movement ‘Frugal Chic’, Mia McGrath reveals how to build a life that feels stylish, intentional and financially secure.
Drawing on behavioural psychology, philosophy, and her own journey from fashion obsessive to self-made saver, Mia reveals how modern life quietly erodes self-worth and fuels overspending. She explains why traditional budgeting advice fails, why identity matters more than discipline, and why true freedom comes from simplicity rather than restriction.
Mia shows:
- how to shift your identity to intentional saver
- why social media and overconsumption keep you stuck in emotional spending cycles
- how to cultivate rituals, taste, and habits that reduce financial chaos
- how to save and invest to grow your wealth with confidence
Frugal Chic is not about penny-pinching, depriving yourself, or perfection. It’s about spending intentionally on what matters to you most in life and building wealth for your future.

About the author
Mia Rose McGrath is a British Asian digital creator and model working at the intersection of personal finance, intentional living, and style. She began sharing her financial journey in 2024, blending lessons from her early career in luxury fashion sales with her commitment to financial literacy. Since then, she has collaborated with organisations including the FCA, HMRC, and Trading 212, and has been featured in Vogue and The Telegraph.
Born in China and adopted into a London family, Mia’s upbringing shaped her discipline and resourcefulness. But like many young adults, she struggled with overspending until university forced her to make her student loan last. The pandemic refined her frugal habits, and a conversation with friends sparked her interest in investing. As she built her savings, reaching £100k+ by age 24, she developed the philosophy now known as Frugal Chic: the balance of saving, style, and long-term autonomy. Her mission is to show that wealth-building doesn’t require deprivation, and that the most stylish thing you can do is build a life rooted in clarity, discipline, and intention.
